literature has been part of my life since i was young. reading is my hobby than was develop through my literature subject.
pictures can be an interpretation of what we understand on the novels, poem and short stories that we read. as for our photo shoot for the hundred years of solitude, it was fun and exciting. that was my first time and it's not easy doing a pose especially if your not into it.. the pose was a kind of daring that i hesitate but i did it for art sake. after looking at my pictures as the result a feel happy since it's not everyday that we do have a photo shoot to portray the emotion that we had for the novel. and i learn a lot from it.
if you want to learned you have to take risk even if you know that you might loose on something that you value most. life is not constant that it change as the years passes by. every organism, individuals and animals are part of you that somehow you lost contact into it, but yes they are part of you.
Latin American literature consists of the oral and written literature of Latin America (and the Caribbean) in several languages, particularly in Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous languages of the Americas. It rose to particular prominence globally during the second half of the 20th century, largely due to the international success of the style known as magical realism.

the receipes of love..
the stories that we have for the week was about love...
i already ask my self before what really love is. it leads me to no definite answer. some says it is like a clock, a river, a bubble gum and etc.
the girl in the story doesn't know how to fight for her love at first and that's how young people are. we are afraid what will happen if we do fight for the things that we want. we depend on what our parents will say and as much as possible we follow them even we hate it.
if we cannot find define answer of what is love at least we will know what are it's recipes. love is always accompanied by heartache, in that way you will know you're limitation,. if you really love the person and of course you will understand that love will go beyond borders and limitations.
i already accept the fact that it will come in the point of your life that you will live someone more than yourself and it is when you will know how to sacrifice your own happiness. it is crazy but even authors portray this things to their novels..

Memories Of Scare Tactics Past
The Choices we make.........
THE CHOICES WE MAKE.... I am sometimes intrigued by the choices we humans make; the choices we regret having made, more often than not. What governs our power to make any specific choice? Is it compulsion, love, mental block, 'need of the hour', an animal instinct or simply a human desire which pushes us in a direction, eventually leading to darkness, stifled cries and untold misery? Whatever the reason might be, the results are generally atrocious. How often we wish we could turn the clock back and undo what has been done? How often we twitch in grief regretting the relationships we entered into, the opportunities we missed, and so on and so forth. The list might be endless but do we ever take out a minute out of our busy schedules to ponder on this issue. How many of us really learn from our past mistakes and promise to ourselves never to take hasty or faulty decisions so as to salvage whatever we might be left with? One wrong decision can have such far reaching effects which most of us don't even comprehend while taking such a decision. It is sane to learn from one’s own mistakes but it is saner to learn from the mistakes which others make.

MEMORIES OF THE PAST
It was a wonderful sharing/report shared to us by Dennisa. Something that would have touched us in the midst of our confusion about life's nature. It could be an inspiration not for a while but for a lifetime moment of my days as I've wandered towards life's perfection despite of those failures, pains and sorrows I've met along life's highways. Life as we know,is an abundant of both blessings and mysteries. Somethings would stay with us while some others would pass by as the days, nights, months,or years come and go. Life is such a wonderful blessing because we've freely owned this. The moment that we've born has started the day of our sorrows, pains, and even happiness. But despite of all circumstances,we should be thankful to ourselves because not all living things are given a chance to live on the way as we are living right now. Animals and plants are more greatly different than the life's freedom we've owned. We are greatest among the living creatures and therfore,we should bear in mind that every failure in life is part of reality and we should not be worried about it. All we have to do is to learn lesson from the past and try to make life again as a memorable experience.
The romantic voice of hers(Dennisa) and her questions of perflexities would have made me to be aware that one day in my life I've ,on the same way, encountered the feeling of loosing someone who had been important to me. It's about loosing my Grand-Father and loosing someone who has been a especial friend of mine. That was 4years ago my Grand-Father has passed away. Though there was a mixture-feeling of regreat and sadness, but after all,I've come to realize that all these things happen to us as parts of our distiny. I learned to let go those worries I've experienced before. I've known that I've something to change in my life for my "Lolo" but it was too late. I could never go back the days that I've lost. All I've done,at that time, was only to bring back the happy moments We've shared and to learn somehow an inspiration from those mistakes.
The same as before, another distruction that has come to me. After all I've lost everything important of myself. "What will be your reaction if one day you've lost your especial someone?". This question is direct and clever. It would have suddenly arouse me to ponder my memorable experience. She has been my especial friend,my knowledge,my inspiration and considered as my forever sister'but that was before. I've suddenly lost her not just because of her personality but it was because of my complex attitude. I could never go back the days We've had but I believe I could make a wonderful memory of hers in the life of others.

I constantly thank God for Esteban
Fictional, I might say, but the story of the handsomest drowned man sure has some implications to the real world. Everybody can be Esteban. An alien, a beautiful alien to a culture. A unique human being made to change other people's lives. Esteban hadn't drowned for a non sense cause, like nobody would just bump into you right in the middle of a crowded sidewalk making your books fall to the ground for nothing. Esteban's story has the universal theme, you could say a simple story of a drowned man who changed the way of life of an isolated village by the seashore. BUT Marquez's woven a magnificent story in the style of magic realism which made a great impact in the literary world.

DOES THE STORY REFLECT TO THE HISTORY OF THE AUTHOR?
As far as I've known the concept of magic realism is to create a fantastic nature out of real life situation. This might be getting in to the very essence of natural life's story and then portraying a magical technique by omitting those important concept of real life information(social/political issues)for the safety of the writter, particularly during the time of turbulence to his/her society. Franz Kafka and the other writters, who used the technique of magical realism, therefore portrayed fantastic/methological figures(heroic figures)out of their personal life experiences. And this could have been a reason that most of their writtings reflect to the history of their countries, but it could have been a vague idea for us because these works are written symbolically for the purpose of an author's confidentiality. Thus the story of the "drowned man", is basically a portrayal of the colombian columbian history. It could be ,on the other way, a symbolism of the whole aspect of humanity as one continues in his struggle against cruelty towards life's perfection.
Looking back to the past,I've informed that the indigenous tribes of columbia were once colonized by the Spaniards. And before the time of its colonization people really experienced a little bit improvement in their lives. It was only then during the time of colonization that these people experienced improvements simply because of the new culture brought to them by the colonizers.
Taking with that simple reality, the story, therefore, has a lot of connections to the history of the author. The arrival of the drowned man in the story probably symbolizes the colonizers, who brought new culture to the indigenous society, while the fictional village reflects the community of these people and their husbands(weak)represent the old-weak culture. Over all,the story of course, does not only limit to one experience. Generally speaking,it could however be, extended beyond cultures that probably inspire us to live with a greater change like of what did happen to this fictional village.

i was drown...
magic realism has fantastic description when it comes to portraying something that seems very ordinary..yet, the drown man who has big body built and handsome face was just part of what is in the story..
living here on earth for 22 years i have encounter many drown man that change my life and realize my personality. the drown man in the story changes the point of view of many member of tribe especially the women and men as well feel ashamed for who they are. in many cases people try to stick on something that they thought what is right or real but as we go on in our everyday life for they were afraid on taking risk and try to stay on the safe zone and they don't realize that changes is the constant word here on earth. we live to change our life and other peoples life. everything that we see, simple it may be but these things move us and change us many ways. the drown man was dead but he changes their point of view, i realize that even if we don't do big things we can be a source of the changes that undergone in other peoples life.many of us think that they are useless but what they don't understand is that as long as we live there is still hope for better changes..

Handsomest Drowned Man
Esteban symbolizes the "larger than life" paradigm of a person who is so extraordinary that he ordinary, in turn, becomes too much for him. This is why, when it comes to ordinary and everyday...
In the personage of Esteban are shades of heroes from different cultures and time periods.
Thank you Ani for a very nice report....

Magic Realism
This kind of technique is the most enchanting so far. The mixture of fantasy to the real things. I love how my mind could fly and explore the boundless possibilities of the Magic Realism. The alteration could also be called as a miracle through the impossibilities of those stories. The stories are twisted and bent but still with the attachment of reality in it. It is indeed marvelous.

Life's lessons
How i wish I could go on a road trip. The story made me realize that life is short. It's not the issue of fidelity or what, in the end it won't matter anyway. In the movie, it showed the impermanence of things. That though two things are tied and bound together, the knot will wither and change and another string of life will take place.

NOW
now we will start the real discussion. Y tumama Tambien movie is the pre conditioning of the things we will have in Latin Literature. So please bare with me. Some of the ideas and terms might be new to you. And please review your figures of speech and literary devices!
UNFORGETTABLE "ITO MAMA TOM BIEN" :)
I really enjoyed watching the movie even though in the first scene it was so scandalous...The film is a coming of age story about two teenage boys taking a road trip with a woman in her late twenties. At first, we were all excited to see this movie cause as what our teacher have said we can't wait to see the movie... There are some lessons I've learned... its not that we will judge others right away without knowing what his or her real identity. We need to know first the reason why??? I found out the movie a little bit funny because there are some scenes made us laugh.... I really wanted to have a copy of the movie....hehehe! After we watched the movie, our teacher shared a little bit something of the movie blah blah blah.... I am thankful to our teacher coz he gave us the chance to watched this kind of movie...:)

THE LOST OF IDENTITY AND ITS ADVANTAGE
In evry aspect of colonization, there have been trials, sufferings and even "misconception" of one's culture. And these are the negative things that people from the developing countries had been experiencing during this colonial period. Furtheremore,on the other side of colonization, there would have been "extra-life" that they've shared to us like those aspects that we've called "the advantages". We have lost our identity without knowing that the wall behind this fact there lies an instant life of education and religion that somehow predistined us to even more exiting discoveries.
Education serves as our foundation of knowledge. without education,we might have not known about the essence of the existence of life. we won't know ,for an instance, about science which helps us to be open-minded. Eienstein, through education, shares us his famous theory of relativity that leads us(colonized people) to the important discoveries of the universe like to our basic knowledge of things as composed of atoms. While the philosopers and the rests of the scientists give us their knowledge about the scientific explaination of the things and the philosophy of life. Education gives us the chances to reason out evrything beyond/not to our senses,or even to use it as our tool for revenge like Achebe and Rizal did.
Next to education is religion. This serves us to be our inspiration of living in this uncertain world. Religion provides us an answer to the "universal fear of unknown"by giving us the foundational reflection of reality--The supreme being. God,through our religion, therefore, satisfies our inner-longigness. And by doing this,we are more equiped than before the period of colonization.
Colonization, though reshapes our distiny, makes us to be happy(religion)and curious(education)about the things in this world by teaching us a far more relevant concept about life's reality through their teachings to us. Religion teaches us about spiriual life while education brings us the knowledge of life. Thus by looking at the positive aspect of colonization,we are so much blessed of what we've had.
Won't it be an advantage?

The Role of Multicultural Literature
The literature used should accurately portray the history, customs, values, and language of a particular cultural group. Through sharing carefully selected literature, students can learn to understand and to appreciate a literary heritage that comes from many diverse backgrounds.Students also benefit from reading literature that reflects their own ethnic and cultural background. Such literature can be an important tool in helping all students develop a healthy self-concept - one that is based on a knowledge of and a sense of pride in family background.
